Director of Music Ministries - Gloria Mayo
Gloria Mayo is our music director, and she and her family
have been members of Plum Creek Church since 2002. Gloria accepted
Jesus' gift of salvation when she was 5 years old. It has been a
source of incredible security and contentment to have Him by her
side throughout most of her life.
Raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, she graduated with a B.A. in
Business Administration (including two years of music theory) from
Northwestern College (Roseville, MN), where she met and married
Tim Mayo in 1984. After living in Madison and Green Bay, Wisconsin
for a few years, they moved to Pittsburgh in 1990 for Tim's
employment with Westinghouse.
In her youth, Gloria had 14 years of piano lessons, which included
theory and technique testing through the Minnesota Music Teachers
Association. She has been accompanying choirs and vocalists since
Gloria and Tim have five children, all musical, and Gloria loves to
arrange church music for whatever instruments they play (and others,
too). She also has four grandchildren, and is excited to see
where their musical talents will lie (like they have a choice!).
Gloria's goal is to do her best to match the pastor's message with
supporting music that glorifies God, and pull anyone with any musical
talent "up front" to play his/her instrument, or sing. God loves it
when we use our gifts for Him!
